Account Setup : Users

There are three types of TurnLink users:

Admin: Users have full access and can make changes to all systemwide preferences. They can manage payment methods, user licenses, and all setup items such as products, distributor attributes (codes, pricing, etc), promotions, tags, global templates, and more. Admin users can also modify Events created by other users.

Inside Sales: Users have full access but cannot make changes to systemwide preferences. They can view, but not edit, Admin only setup items, and cannot modify Events created by other users.

Outside Sales: Users can only access the accounts they are assigned to as a 'Representative'. Admin level users control whether Outside Sales users can access reports, modify records, add records, export data from the system and several other options that involve data manipulation via Setup > Preferences > Administrative > Outside Sales Companies and Users. Admin level users control all users via Setup > Users: 



To add a new user click the menu icon towards the top right of your screen and select 'Add New User':  




Note: If you have reached your maximum user allotment the system will prompt you that an upgrade is required.

Fill out the 'Add User' form and click 'Submit': 


If the 'Send User Email To Create Password' box is checked they will receive an email with their username and a link to create a password. Please note that the link will expire after 15 minutes. If the link expires you can easily resend the email by clicking the menu icon next to their name and selecting 'Send Login': 



To delete/inactivate a user click the menu icon next to their name and select 'Inactivate':


 
If a new user is replacing an existing user you can switch a user to a new user by clicking the menu icon next to their name and selecting 'Switch':



This option allows you to reschedule Tasks and reassign accounts to your new user at the same time you inactivate the old one:


** Do not edit an existing user to be a new user. Actions in TurnLink are connected to the user, so if you edit a user to be a new user all historical actions taken by the original user will skew the new user's data. Either 'Switch' them as covered above, or inactivate the old user and create a new user from scratch. 

** If inactivating users reduces your monthly license package, and you wish to also reduce the associated monthly fees, please email support@turntree.com after inactivating.
