Account Setup : Outside Sales Companies & Representatives (Broker Setup)
You can add Outside Sales companies and their representatives to TurnLink and connect them to the accounts they call on whether or not they are TurnLink users. This enables you to see, at a glance, the accounts they are responsible for and, should you provide them with a TurnLink login, it will limit their visibility to the accounts in which they have been connected.
To do this, click on Companies > Add New:
Fill out as much information as is known about the company. Type = Outside Sales. At minimum, be sure to include Name, a Creation Note indicating the source and/or basic information, and the main phone number which is used as a unique ID to avoid creating duplicate records. Click 'Save Details' when finished:
You will automatically be taken into the Company Overview. Scroll to the Contacts section of the company details and add their reps as Contacts:
Outside Sales company Contacts are automatically added as sales rep options in your Customer and Prospect records. Pull up a record you want to connect them to, scroll to the 'Reps' section of the company details, click 'add', and select the applicable rep:
Notes:
- In addition to brokers this is a great way to setup and manage 3rd party distributor reps.
- You can also assign reps in batch via Advanced Search > Push Results To > Representative Assignment.
- If your Outside Sales reps are going to be TurnLink users, your Admin level users can control their permissions via Setup > Preferences > Administrative > Outside Sales Companies and Users.
