Account Setup : Promotions


You can setup and manage promotions in TurnLink logged in as an Admin via Setup > Promotions:



To add a new promotion click the menu icon towards the top right of your screen and select 'Add New Promotion':

 

To edit an existing promotion click the menu icon next to it's name and choose 'Edit': 





**Duplicate and Edit is used for copying a promotion that you repeat often. For example, If you have a 15% off deal in April and July and all criteria is the same, simply create the April promotion and 'Duplicate and Edit' it, changing the name and dates to July.

On the following screen fill out the form to setup the promotion amounts, details, and audience. Then click 'Continue'. 

Settings include:

  • Name: This is the name that will be output internally in the Order Form and in the PDF and other export formats of Orders.
  • Type: Is it a Year Round/Ongoing Deal or a One-Time Deal with a start and end date?
     Year Round: A  Promotion that has been selected as "year round" will never end this is designed for a deal you can add on at any time (eg new account free fill, etc)  
    One time deal: A promotion that has been selected as a "One-Time Deal" is for something that has a start and end date.  Like a 15% OI that starts Feb 1st and ends Feb 28th.  
  • Editable in Order Form: Can reps modify the promotion amount?
  • Discount Amount: Enter the amount and indicate if it's a dollar or percentage amount off.
  • Published To: List all the Distributor or Regional company(ies) who the promotion should be available through eg all UNFI:Eastern Region DCs. 
  • Products Included: choose Line Drive: All Products, Entire Folder(s), or Specific Products.
  • Automatically Apply: This setting denotes if a promotion should be selected when you start a new Order if it applies to the product, distributor, customer combination.
  • Never: This Promotion will NOT be auto applied and must be selected in the drop down to be used when it is available and meets the line item criterion.
  • Sometimes: This Promotion will be auto applied if the criterion make it available. However, if there are any Promotions designated as 'Always' this will not be automatically applied. For example, use 'Sometimes' for year round deals that you do not want to apply if there is a periodic deal available with the same criterion.
  • Always: This Promotion will be auto applied all the time as long as it meets the criterion of the line item in the order.
  • Minimum Amount Required: You can specify minimum amounts for a promotion to apply to  a line item.

On the following screen setup all additional promotion details and click 'Save'. 

Settings include:


  • Buy-In Date: The date a distributor can start buying on deal from you.
  • Published Date: The date the retailer can start buying on deal from the distributor.  
  • Apply Discount To: Only the First Unit or All Units on the Line Item
  • QuickBooks Item and Account Name - only applies if you are syncing with QuickBooks and the deal is through your 'Direct' Distributor. Click Here for additional info regarding QuickBooks discounts.
  • Select Folders/Products: If you are not doing a line drive you will select either folders or products that the promotion applies to.Example:


Once you schedule a promotion it will become available on all applicable order forms.
